Brick Footpath

This was a job that we did back in New Zealand. To build this footpath, the foundations were dug manually as the access was limited to the property. On completion of the digging, a weed mat was rolled out to ensure no weed grow from the bricks. This was filled with hardcore and it was wacker plated to give the footpath a solid base and foundation. Railway sleepers were then used for the edging of the path. After this, a bed sharp sand was added on the top and was then ready for the bricks to be laid on. The bricks used were imperial reclaimed bricks and were laid frog up. The entire footpath was blinded with kiln dry sand and brushed into all the gaps – this left a little access sand to protect the bricks. Finally, the path was wacker plated to ensure the bricks did not move.  For a final touch, the path was brushed with kiln dry sand for a perfect finish without any gaps.
